P.J. graduated from Auburn University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Concentration in Political Science. Throughout her undergraduate studies, P.J. was active in Student Government Association by serving as the Director of the Miss Auburn University Scholarship Pageant and Secretary of Campus Projects. She served on the College of Liberal Arts Student Council as Director of Public Relations. In the Summer of 2009, P.J. had the opportunity to complete an Internship with the Honorable Congressman Mike Rogers in Washington, D.C.
In 2014, P.J. earned her Juris Doctorate from Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama. During her time in law school, she earned a spot on the Executive Board of the Faulkner Law Review as Articles Editor. P.J. was involved in the Student Bar Association as a Senator-At-Large. She earned the title of Fellow for the Academic Success Program and the Public Interest Law Society. Additionally, P.J. held various positions in the American Association for Justice and the Women’s Legal Society.
While in law school, P.J. completed internships with the State of Alabama Department of Education, the State of Alabama Attorney General’s Office, and Mooty and Associates. She also worked in the Mediation Clinic and the Domestic Violence Clinic within Jones School of Law.
Shortly after passing the Alabama State Bar, P.J. was engaged in the private practice of law in Jacksonville, Alabama. Her practice involved criminal defense, domestic relations, probate law, and other civil matters. In 2020, P.J. accepted an appointment as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alabama and served in that position for over five years.
P.J. grew up in Piedmont, Alabama and relocated to Mobile, Alabama in 2020. She is married to Steven Floyd and has two children: Tolly and Stevie. P.J. and her family are members at Dauphin Way Methodist Church.
